Red Door Cleaning was recently tasked with providing floor stripping and waxing services for Belmead Dental Clinic in Edmonton. We have been providing these services for commercial properties and have a rigorous process to ensure your floor looks new.
We begin by sweeping, dust mopping, and vacuuming the targeted floors then apply a stripper solution which we let sit for a few minutes. Any leftover wax buildup is scrubbed by hand and disposed of. As the stripper solution has soaked your floor we then begin to use our electric floor scrubber to remove it. After this, we clean our floor with water and let it dry before we begin waxing. We begin spreading wax using a wax mop and let each layer of wax dry before applying the next one. Once completed we use a high-speed burnisher to buff your floors and create a beautiful shine.

Why Every Property Manager Should Hire a Professional Cleaning Company
What is the one thing that if you did it today would radically improve your commercial property’s ability to attract and retain the best tenants?
This is a question property managers spend a lot of time looking for answers to. But the truth is, there is no magical formula to instantaneously transform a commercial property into a magnet for businesses. Instead of one phenomenally successful tip, several small actions come together to make a commercial property irresistible to tenants.
Too often, however, property managers think they must invest all their energies on big things that cost a lot of money at the expense of small steps that they can take immediately. While your marketing, networking, and referral systems are important, they should not replace simple actions that impact the quality of the rental at a more basic level.
For instance, when was the last time you thought of using the cleanliness of your premises as a way to attract bigger and better-paying tenants? After you have spent hours polishing your company’s image and building innovative marketing programs, something as basic as how clean the building is can make or break your efforts.
From the viewpoint of the businesses that will rent or are renting your property, how clean the premises are weighs more than the promises you adverts make. Potential tenants often base their decisions to rent an office or commercial premises on how clean it is. They know that how neat a building is will affect their business’ performance.
How you approach cleaning in a commercial property:
- Defines the first impression the property makes on tenant’s employees and customers.
- Determines the caliber of businesses that are willing to rent space in your premises
- Impacts the productivity of your tenant’s staff.
- Helps customers feel comfortable and happy to spend time on the premises.
The sum of these benefits is the businesses on your premises make more money. If tenant’s businesses perform well, they will be less likely to leave and your property management business will be more profitable, as a result. Given how vital the cleanliness of your commercial property is to you and your tenants’ business, what is the best strategy for cleaning the building?
Should you clean it yourself or use amateur cleaners, as a way of saving costs? Or is it better to hire a professional cleaning company to handle all aspects of cleaning on the property? The best way to clean a commercial property is to let a professional cleaning company oversee the cleaning of the building. Why is this?
Reasons to hire a professional cleaner for your commercial property
The professional cleaner represents your tenant’s brand
The maintenance team in a commercial property doesn’t just represent you; they also represent the businesses that operate from the property. The quality of people you employ to work in the premises can attract or repel customers. Professional cleaning companies are very professional and will represent you and your tenants’ brands properly.
A professional cleaner maintains the highest standard of cleanliness
The people who work or do business in a building all have their different definitions of what cleanliness is. A professional cleaner will clean the premises beyond your tenants’ or their customers’ highest expectations. A professional cleaning company will implement the level of cleanliness usually seen in top restaurants and hotels.
Minimum interference with tenant’s business
Professional cleaners know how to clean the premises without getting in the way of your tenants, their staff, and customers. They will keep the entire premises spotlessly clean without interrupting the flow of business or disturbing anyone. This ensures a consistent level of cleanliness while enhancing the productivity of the businesses in the building.
They keep the premises sanitary
Because commercial buildings draw a lot of human traffic, it is easy for germs to spread in such buildings. A professional cleaning company has the skills and tools to keep all surfaces in the building sanitary. They will quickly and effectively disinfect railings, door handles, restrooms, and other areas of the building where pathogens tend to lurk.
Professional cleaners will save you money
Professional cleaners clean with speed without compromising quality. They can reduce wear and tear on the surfaces of the building. They know the best cleaning methods for all materials on the premises and will modify their approach, depending on what they are cleaning. This can slow the deterioration of the components of your building.
They let you focus on what is important
When you hire a professional cleaner, you don’t need to supervise them, as you would an amateur cleaner. A professional cleaner gives you the chance to spend time building your business rather than spending it mopping floors. By hiring a professional cleaner, you buy room to become more professional and profitable.
In summary, hiring a professional cleaning company helps you become a sought-after property manager because it lets you have the better of two worlds. You can give time to developing your core competencies while maintaining the highest standards in your commercial property.

3 Ways Red Door Cleaning is Making Your Return to Work Safe and Stress-free
Business owners in Edmonton and surrounding areas are opening their doors once again. However, as we welcome these changes, a re-entry to the workplace plan with a commitment to cleanliness is top of mind for many commercial space managers and business owners. Seeking professional cleaning companies with a commitment to clean that goes beyond the surface is a high priority like never before. With over a decade of proven commitment to a quality deep clean routine for a variety of commercial spaces, Red Door Cleaning is making the grade for many businesses in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert and Leduc.
1. Maintaining Healthy Environments
As employees are returning to their workspaces, in person meetings are increasing and businesses are seeing greater traffic, knowing that your staff and clients are doing business together in a healthy environment is important for many business owners. Cooler days are also around the corner meaning that regular disinfection is key – not just for keeping viruses like COVID-19 off high touch surfaces, but also for lowering the risk of spread of influenza and the common cold.
We know business owners and corporations have a standard of care to maintain. Your desire to keep your staff and your clients safe can be met by delegating that responsibility to the care of cleaning professionals. The peace of mind of having a routine deep cleaning schedule that meets the unique needs of your commercial space, means you have more time and energy to invest in building your business.
Utilizing a professional cleaning company is more than meeting a duty of care, it can also help your bottom line by ensuring your staff can continue to work at their peak, that the risk of spread of viruses and bacteria is significantly reduced. Thorough routine cleaning also reduces the spread of allergens and irritants that can reduce productivity in a time when it is critical to get your business up and running at its optimal capacity.
2. Creating Welcoming & Productive Spaces
Many businesses are striving to make a comeback and it is essential to make a good impression when you open your doors once again to your clients and customers. At Red Door Cleaning we pride ourselves at transforming drab and dreary commercial spaces into sparkling, well-kept and inviting places.
The visible demonstration of organization and care a client sees when walking into your office or commercial space is critical; it often translates into expectations of the quality service they will receive from your organization. This is also true of potential new hires wondering what type of work experience they can expect from an employer. Many businesses during the past several months have sat dormant collecting dust, undergone renovations, or are long overdue for floor stripping and waxing services. We invite you to browse our gallery of before and after images and see for yourself the difference our top quality professional cleaning service can make for you.
Let Red Door Cleaning open the door to get your business booming again. We can help you create an impressive, clean space to attract the right employees and keep the right clients coming through your doors again and again.

Professionalism and perfection are our hallmarks. Yes, we know – no one is perfect. Yet when it comes to cleaning, the attention to detail – not just of what is seen on the surface but what the eye can’t see – is one of the reasons Red Door has been trusted and relied upon for years. Many cleaning professionals aim for satisfactory. We go above and beyond this benchmark to provide the highest excellence in both cleaning and customer service.
Part of our standard of excellence is a commitment to continual industry improvement. When COVID-19 changed the game, we upped our game by switching to an even more powerful and effective disinfectant and providing a cleaning experience that helped many businesses meet new health standards. We also continue our commitment to using products that are extremely effective but also safer for people and the environment.
Our staff are experienced and trained in cleaning techniques that do not just smear and move germs and debris but properly remove or destroy them from your surfaces. Are your disinfectants actually working? Are you disinfecting your home, car, and office every day? Do you know if you are using the disinfectant properly to eliminate viruses?
In order for a disinfectant to kill certain viruses (AKA Covid-19), you cannot just spray it on and wipe it off right away within seconds. This is not how disinfecting works.
Why? Well, there is something called “Dwell Time”.
Dwell Time is the amount of time that a disinfectant must be in contact with the surface, and REMAIN WET, in order to achieve the product’s full benefit of killing off the virus. Your average dwell time (or as we like to call it, “kill time” to kill the virus) is 10 minutes. So, what does this mean exactly?
If you are using a disinfectant with your typical 10 minute dwell time, you have to spray the surface you are wanting to disinfect and leave it WET for 10 minutes before touching it. 10 minutes is a LONG time to stand there and wait! It is also a long time to ensure the surface did not dry on its own. If the surface dries by itself in under 10 minutes, it did not kill the virus and the harmful virus is still lurking!
What can you do about it?
The good news is, there are other alternatives to the 10 minutes. There are a lot of options for products that have shorter dwell times. Some of them are as short as thirty seconds, one minute, three minutes, and even five minutes. Of course, the shorter the amount of dwell time, usually the more expensive the product is. It can be difficult to find the dwell time, a lot of the times there is no information on the actual product itself. At Red Door Cleaning we have done our research and have called many many disinfecting companies that don’t have the information on their product. All of them were 10 minutes.
Products like Microban all have a 10 minute dwell time. So if you are using these products to kill the viruses out there, be sure to have your surface wet with the disinfectant for 10 minutes.
What does Red Door Cleaning use as a disinfectant?
We use a one minute kill time disinfectant, which is much easier than 10 minutes. It is approved by Health Canada and is on Health Canada’s list of hard-surface disinfectants with evidence against COVID-19. It is made by Diversey and it is called Oxivir.
Lysol wipes claim to be a 2 minute kill time, so that is another good alternative if you’re looking to use it in your home. Again, just make sure the surface remains wet for 2 minutes.
If you are looking for a shorter dwell time, I suggest calling your local janitorial store. Personally, we use Regent Supply in Edmonton and they are absolutely amazing and so helpful!
Meet Justine, she has been a dedicated part of our team since 2015. Justine has a background in Graphic Design. She came to Red Door Cleaning with a residential cleaning background, which was helpful to see details in her work. She first started out as a nightly cleaner and serviced one of our most detailed buildings 5 nights a week alongside the owner. There, she received detailed training on commercial cleaning, how to clean a commercial building, and what to look for. She is incredibly dedicated, knowledgeable, and all of our clients and staff love her. From there, she moved on to the Operations Manager role. Her main focus is quality control for all of our clients. Justine completes surprise quality control visits to each and every building we clean. She looks for discrepancies in our team’s work as well as completes a tool and supply check to ensure all of our tools are in working order. It is important that our employees have working tools to be able to complete their job properly. Justine also does all the hands on training of any new employee that gets hired on with Red Door Cleaning and manages all of the supplies for our clients and staff. Justine’s job is sort of in the background and sometimes can go unnoticed. But, we at Red Door Cleaning appreciate Justine and all her hard work she has done for us. We certainly wouldn’t be here today without her help and dedication to the company. If you see Justine in your building that we clean, be sure to say hello!
Cleaning a medical clinic is not the same as cleaning any other commercial business. The standards and stakes are higher when it comes to ensuring medical clinics are properly clean. There are so many important things that go on in medical clinics and ensuring everything is clean and sanitized should be a top priority. Hiring a professional medical clinic cleaning company like Red Door Cleaning can ensure the clinic is clean and sanitized. Having a clean medical clinic shows patients that you are serious about their health and there are many things to ensure your clinic looks clean.
Using Gloves
Whenever you are dealing with patients or equipment you should always wear gloves. Disposable gloves are the best to use as you can dispose of them which will help prevent the spread of germs in the medical clinic.
Levels of Cleanliness
Different areas in your medical clinic may not require the same attention or level of cleaning as other areas. Patient rooms will probably require more attention and a higher level of cleaning than an administrative office that is not used by patients. Treatment rooms are not the only place that should receive extra attention. Patient waiting rooms should be cleaned regularly as they can attract germs from patients waiting to see their doctor as well as ensuring restrooms remain clean as well.
Wash Your Hands
Everyone should be washing their hand with soap regularly and patients who visit the medical clinic should be encouraged to do the same. Having hand sanitizing stations available in the medical clinic can also help prevent the spread of germs.
Using the Right Cleaning Products
Red Door Cleaning has years of experience cleaning medical clinics in Edmonton and during our time we only use the best cleaning products that are also environmentally conscious. We know what cleaning products should be used and which ones should be avoided
Use a Checklist
For all our clients Red Door Cleaning can come up with a custom cleaning plan when we go in and clean. But during the day when the clinic is in use it will most likely be the staff who are responsible for ensuring certain areas of the clinic are clean. The staff at the clinic should check off a list of their assigned cleaning tasks they are responsible for during the day. This can also help Red Door Cleaning when we go in and clean and sanitize the entire medical clinic.
Contact Red Door Cleaning
The staff working in a medical clinic have a lot of responsibilities and each task requires their undivided attention with the utmost care. Due to these responsibilities cleaning might take a back seat because there are tasks that require immediate attention from the clinic staff. Hiring a professional and reliable medical clinic cleaning company like Red Door Cleaning means you won’t have to worry about the equipment or expertise to clean a medical clinic. Having a clean medical clinic keeps both employees and patients happy.
