- What is your name? Lori
- How long have you worked or Red Door Cleaning for? Since 2019
- Why do you love cleaning? I was raised to always have a clean home, my mother was the housekeeper when we were growing up and was proud of it and taught us well. I am following in her footsteps. I actually love to clean and make things shine!
- If you’re not cleaning, what else are you doing with your time? I am either transplanting my plants in the house to bigger pots or in the garden in the back in the spring, summer ,fall. I also love getting set up for Halloween! Also I love to read a good book and I have just recently began doing puzzles at home and in the library, ones with very colorful scenes.
- Why do you love working for Red Door Cleaning? I was excited to get hired by them because they had the same values about cleaning that I had and the same work ethics, that clients come first and appreciate it when we do a good job in their establishments. I like going into a place that has not seen a good clean for awhile and come out with it sparkling.
- What is one thing that surprised you when you started working for Red Door Cleaning? I was surprized at how quickly and efficiently Karen/Justine responded to help with situations that were unsafe work places (ie: sewage back up over floor) how quickly the client was notified and the issue fixed so I could go back and finish the cleaning of the building.
- If you didn’t have to work, what would you do with your time? I would enjoy digging in the garden,(I know dirt right!!), planting flowers (this year they will be blue and yellow ones dedicated to the war in Ukraine) I go to Elk Island National Park and go hiking on the paths and meet a buffalo or two. I would read a lot and do more puzzles just for fun!
- What was your first job ever? I worked at a fish and chip store when I was 16, where they wrapped the food into newspaper to hand it to clients, in Barrie Ontario.
- What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard? “Treat others the way you want to be treated” be kind, be loving, and laugh at your mistakes, just be happy!
- What is the weirdest fact you know? One of the earliest known vacuum cleaners was so large it had to be hauled around by horse drawn carriage, the hoses were popped through the window of customers and a gas powered motor generated the suction that pulled the dirt and debris into a glass container where people could gawk at the volume of filth from there neighbors homes! LOL! Sure glad we have smaller ones now eh!
- If you could take a month to travel anywhere, where would you go? I would go to Scotland and find my grandfathers home in Kilmarnock.
- Are you a cat person or a dog person? I am both though I have been allergic to furry things since birth. I had a hamster when I was smaller couldn’t have a kitten that was my kitten, no dogs or horses, but I own this crazy 16 year old black cat now named Mirror I’ve become immune to her over the years so all is good!
- What is an interesting fact about yourself? I love to be kept busy and I get tenacious about getting the job done.
- What is one non-work related goal that you would like to achieve in the next five years? To get my bucket list wish to get to visit Scotland!
- What is your most used emoji? the happy faces!! 🙂
